It's been a loooong time

Iknow , I know it has been a very long time. We've had a ton of stuff go on here. First we drove across the country to St. Cloud, MN to visit with Jeff's parents. We then arrived in La Crosse, WI July 16 to stay at a vacation rental in an old farm house. Can we say lead based paint....agh!!! You can take the girl out of the EPA but can't take the EPA out of the girl. Long story short I followed Ryan everywhere. While we were there we had a seattle visitor....Tracy came to visit. She was in MN for work and drove over to see us. It was just what we all needed and friendly face and great conversation.

We moved into our house arounf September 1. We had it painted top to bottom and Madelyn finally got herself a pink room, Ryan has a green room. We are feeling at home in the new house amd have meet some great friends. A new neighbor moved in across the street with a 5 year old little girl....guess who are two peas in a pod. Everything is going well now.

However, we did have some major drama on the school front with Miss M. She started school at a Montessori school (same as Seattle) to maintain some consistency but have since changed to a Catholic School. A few words could be used to describe our experience: boredom, bullying, and no commitment to the children. The last straw was the puzzle piece up Madelyn's nose (5 days before she told us(it was a small wood piece)). She now is thriving at school and loves to go. She is finishing up a rollar skating unit in gym and is reading small words.

Ryan is still a boys boy. He is not walking but climbs up on chairs, tables, everything. He is amazing at his athletic ability. He can throw and catch a ball pretty well and he is only 14 months. He loves to yell our mama and dada and sister (at least attempts). He is growing up so fast I can't believe he is already 14 months. He has started swim lessons and loves the water...shock since he is my kid.

Jeff is liking work and has exited the honeymoon phase. I like his work since he is home by 5:30 most nights. His call schedule isn't too bad. It is better than UW. We've meet some people who are from the NW Seattle/Portland Area.

Enjoy some pictures of us.

We made it!!!!

It has been a long time since I've updated the blog. A lot has happened since the snow in Seattle....we sold our townhome, lived in a rental, quit my job, ryan started crawling, Jeff's graduation, and drove across country with two cars, two kids and three months of stuff.

I'll be back to post more about our trek, but I need to tend to Mr. Ryan at the moment. Thank you to all for your support over the last few months.

Snow in Seattle

Hi Everyone, I'm sure you have seen the national news about Seattle and the snow.  Overall, we had about 12 inches of snow in Ballard (neighborhood where we live).  Madelyn's school was closed for 5 days during the snow storm.  It doesn't help that Seattle doesn't use salt or metal plows.  The plows in seattle have a rubber edge to push the snow..... useless.  Enjoy the snow pictures.

We're back from Disneyland

The past week we were in Disneyland (the one in CA) and loved it.  The weather was 74 everyday we were there.  I even have a little tan, maybe a slight burn to others.  Madelyn went on two roller coasters, haunted mansion, and a bunch of other rides.  Ryan also went on rides including the haunted mansion twice.  The first time he slept thru it the second time he fell asleep.  I don't know what that says about my little man, but he is brave according to Madelyn.  Madelyn's favorite thing to do was to have lunch with the princesses.  It was a great vacation!!

We were in 74 degree weather last week and come back to 25 degrees in Seattle.  The funny thing is that schools have had a delayed start everyday this week b/c of ice.  The best part of it all is that it hasn't snowed since Saturday.  The threat of snow for tomorrow will close the schools so we will have a snow day tomorrow.
